Throughout his long career as a graphic designer, Yougo Katori has continued to explore the world of creativity. His encounter with Yaeyama opened up his artistic expression, making it even freer and more vibrant.
The tobacco flower, which he saw for the first time on the islands, is rendered in vivid, energetic colors. Surrounded by Yaeyama's rich natural environment, Yougo recalls how the spirit of the islands inspired him to begin creating art purely for the joy of creation.
Finding delight in the things around him, he continues to observe and create.
Now at the age of 80, his ever-evolving creative journey reveals a celebration of life itself — a hymn to life.
